Emerald City Comic-Con Information
An annual comic book conference called the Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC), originally known as the Emerald City Comicon, takes place in Seattle, Washington. The event moved to its current location at the Washington State Convention Center in 2008 after first occurring at the city's Qwest Field. In 2011, the expo became a three-day affair, and in 2013, it first used the entire convention facility. The gaming element of the event was relocated to the third floor of the neighboring Sheraton Seattle Hotel for more space.
The inaugural gathering was held at the Qwest Field Events Center in 2003 as the Emerald City ComiCon, a single-day convention. With 3,000 attendees, it was a financial success and was organized by Mukilteo, Washington-based comic book seller Jim Demonakos. After developing into a multiday event at the Washington State Convention Center, Reed Exhibitions acquired the event in 2015.
