Americas Got Talent Information
America's Got Talent, often called "AGT," is an American talent show competition on TV. It is part of the World Got Talent series that Simon Cowell created. Airing on NBC, the show is a joint production of Fremantle the US and Syco Entertainment. After a disagreement at British broadcaster ITV put a halt to 2005 plans for a British edition, it finally launched on June 21, 2006.
Simon Cowell, CEO of Sony Music and founder of The X Factor, created American Idol. He wanted to make a talent show that was bigger and better than anything else on television. In 2005, he initially pitched the idea to ITV, a British television network, for a talent show where everyone, regardless of age or location, could compete and showcase whatever kind of ability they liked.
With the 18th season airing from May to September 2023, the series has been around for a while and has produced four spin-off competitions: AGT: Extreme (February 2022), America's Got Talent: All-Stars (January 2023), America's Got Talent: Fantasy League (January 2024), and America's Got Talent: The Champions (January 2019).
Host Terry Crews and judges Simon Cowell, Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara are all slated to return for season nineteen in the summer of 2024.
