Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs Mens Hockey Information
Representing the University of Minnesota Duluth, the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs men's ice hockey team participates in NCAA Division I. Bulldogs are among the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) members. The team holds home games in the 6,800-seat AMSOIL Arena housed within Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.
Among the many NHL players the Bulldogs program has produced are Glenn "Chico' Resch, Jim Johnson, the San Jose Sharks assistant coach, Tom Kurvers, Dave Langevin, and Bob Mason." Among Minnesota-Duluth's most well-known graduates are Hockey Hall of Fame member Brett Hull and members of the Miracle on Ice gold medal-winning 1980 U.S. team, Mark Pavelich and John Harrington.
On April 9, 2011, 3–2 in overtime versus the University of Michigan, the Bulldogs emerged triumphant in their first NCAA Division I Championship. After defeating the University of Notre Dame 2–1, UMD earned its second national title on April 7, 2018; on April 13, 2019, it won its third championship (and second straight one) with a 3–0 triumph against the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
