Huntsville Havoc Information
A professional ice hockey team playing in the SPHL is the Huntsville Havoc. The Von Braun Center hosts their home games in downtown Huntsville, Alabama. They joined the South East Hockey League in 2004–05, taking over for the Huntsville Channel Cats, who had previously folded. In 2004–05, the squad lost in the playoffs by a single game to the Jacksonville Barracudas after finishing sixth out of eight teams in the regular season.
The fourth-seeded Havoc won their second President's Cup in 2018 by sweeping the Mississippi RiverKings in the Challenge Round, the Macon Mayhem in the semifinals, and the top-seeded Peoria Rivermen in the finals. The Havoc's record was two games to 1. A fourth-seeded team won the championship for the first time in league history. After defeating the Birmingham Bulls 2-0 in the 2019 SPHL President's Cup finals, the Huntsville Havoc repeated as champions.
