The Wookiefoot community members—including a band, a charity organization, a traveling circus, a philosophy, and a group of world-trotting believers—provide the energy necessary to maintain this Tribadelic spaceship in orbit. With help from the local community, their nonprofit has given over $500,000 to aid organizations in developing countries. The Shangri-La Festival, hosted by Wookiefoot and held annually in September at Harmony Park in southern Minnesota, is a Global Conscious Gathering where the band shines as the headliners.
Wookiefoot's performances are a never-ending source of creativity and fun. The fast-paced circus-like production has been dubbed "Short Attention Span Musical Theater" for its demanding pace. A big band, including everything from a vintage Hammond Organ to Bag Pipes, performs a unique blend of genres, including Reggae, World Beat, Hip Hop, Irish, Funk, Folk, Rock, and more. Mix in a mind-blowing theatrical extravaganza that may feature anything (such as a light show, projection, costumes, fire, dancers, aerialists, magic, clowns, puppets, etc.).
