The group's current lineup consists of Loren Humphrey, Dionne Douglas, Aku Orraca0Tetteh, Hazel Mills, Cyrus Bayandor, Tom Monger, Robert Ackroyd, Isabella Summers, and Florence Welch. The band's music has been praised by critics and audiences alike. Still, the BBC has been especially instrumental in spreading the word about Florence and the Machine through their BBC Music Introducing program.
They won the "Critics' Choice" category at the 2009 Brit Awards. Welch's commanding voice and the band's dramatic, quirky production have earned them widespread acclaim. After its initial release on July 6, 2009, the band saw immediate success with their debut studio album, Lungs, which spent its first five weeks on the UK Albums Chart at position two. After twenty-eight weeks on the chart, the album finally topped the charts on January 17, 2010.
It was one of the best-selling albums of 2009 & 2010 in the UK, charting for sixty-five weeks. When Ceremonials, the band's second studio album, was released in October 2011, it debuted at No. 1 in the United Kingdom and No. 6 in the United States. How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is the band's third studio album, released on June 2, 2015. It was their first album to enter the US Billboard 200 at number one, and it topped the charts in the UK.
