Windhand Information
Windhand is an American doom metal band. The current group lineup comprises Parker Chandler, Ryan Wolfe, Garrett Morris, and Dorthia Cottrell. A two-song demo called Practice Space Demo came out in 2010. Eventually, Ryan Wolfe, formerly of The Might Could, took over drum duties instead of Loucks. The band's self-titled debut album was released in 2012 via Forcefield Records, where they had previously joined. The band continued without Hilbish, who Parker Chandler replaced.
The band's second album, Soma, was released in 2013 on Relapse Records after they joined the label shortly after leaving Forcefield. This was the band's first album to chart on Billboard, and it was also voted one of the finest heavy metal albums of the year by Rolling Stone. Live at Roadburn 2014 was released in 2014, while the year before that, in 2013, Windhand released the split albums Reflection of the Negative with Cough and Windhand / Salem's Pot.
Their third studio album, Grief's Infernal Flower, was produced by Jack Endino and released in 2015. It reached No. 16 on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart, No. 7 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, and No. 17 on Consequence of Sound's list of the greatest albums 2015. The group never replaced founding guitarist Asechiah Bogdan when he left.
