Welcome to Rockville Information
Welcome to Rockville is a heavy metal and hard rock music festival that spans four days. The Daytona International Speedway in Florida's Daytona Beach hosts the event annually. On May 8, 2011, Mother's Day, the first Welcome to Rockville, occurred in Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, Florida.
Due to local noise laws, the celebration lasted all day Sunday, starting at around 11:00 a.m. and finishing beyond 10:00 p.m. Godsmack was the featured performer, while Juliya Chernetsky was the host. The 2nd festival occurred on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Korn and Shinedown, hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, headlined the event.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, a band from Jacksonville, Florida, headlined the 2013 Welcome to Rockville festival, which was extended from one day to two. Alice in Chains also performed at the event.
Metallica headlined two nights at Welcome to Rockville in 2020, while Slipknot and Disturbed were special guests. The event moved to Daytona Beach, Florida, in 2021, from November 11 to 14th. A record-breaking 161,000 people celebrated Welcome to Rockville's 10th anniversary.
In 2021, it was said to have been the largest rock event in the U.S. Furthermore, several acts were streamed live on Twitch to an audience of 1.2 million people. In May of 2022, Danny Wimmer Presents returned Welcome to Rockville. In May 2023, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Pantera, and Tool were among the four-day Welcome to Rockville event headliners.
