We Are Messengers are a US-based band that originated from Monaghan, Ireland, and founded in 2015. Its music is defined as Christian rock, Contemporary Christian music, and Christian pop. The current lineup includes Darren Mulligan – lead vocals, guitar; along with three touring musicians; Kyle Willams – guitar, keys, background vocals; Drake Kennedy – bass, synth, background vocals; and Drew Kerxton – drums.
We Are Messengers was the first studio album by the band, which was released on April 22, 2016. The album was released through Word Records and Curb Records. The album peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and number 16 on the Top Heatseekers Albums. It was followed by their EP entitled Honest, released on March 29, 2019. The EP charted at number 7 on the Top Christian Albums chart as well as number 44 on the Top Album Sales chart.
We Are Messengers had five Billboard Christian Airplay top tens including Magnify and Maybe It's Ok. The group also released many hit singles such as "Everything Comes Alive," "I'll Think About You," "From Heaven to Earth (Joy to the World)," "Needing You Now," "Love (Won't Let Go)." We Are Messengers was nominated for the 2016 GMA Dove Awards for the category of New Artist of the Year.
