TobyMac Information
Toby McKeehan (October 22, 1964) is an American contemporary Christian music singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is better known by his stage name TobyMac. He originally gained recognition as a member of the Christian rap and rock band DC Talk, which he joined in 1987 and remained with until the group went on a temporary pause in 2000. Since then, TobyMac has released nine studio albums as a solo artist, continuing his success.
TobyMac has won seven Grammy Awards and sold over 10 million records across his DC Talk and solo careers. The CHR songs "Gone," "Made to Love," and "Lose My Soul" are only three of his six No. 1 hits. He is one of the performers with the most No. 1 successes on Billboard's Christian Songs list, with six tracks reaching the top spot.
His sixth studio album, This Is Not a Test (2016), and his fifth album, Eye on It (2013), won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. McKeehan's "Promised Land" was released as a single on September 17, 2021. He and Sheryl Crow re-recorded "Promised Land" and put it out for the public on January 7, 2022. Released on June 2, 2022, "The Goodness" was a duet with gospel singer Blessing Offor.
He announced on June 10, 2022, for his upcoming album, Life After Death. The album dropped on August 19, 2022. Next, McKeehan declared that Crowder, Cochren & CoTasha Layton, Jon Reddick, and Terrain would be joining him on his Hits Deep Tour in 2023.
