Ville Hermanni Valo (November 22, 1976) is a Finnish singer, musician, and songwriter. He was born in Helsinki, Finland. At the beginning of his career, Valo played bass and drums in several local bands. His band, HIM, was one of the first in Finland to receive a gold record in the United States, and he helped create it along with two other musicians in 1991.
Valo has worked with many groups and musicians outside of HIM, such as Agents, The 69 Eyes, and Apocalyptica. Valo started his solo career in 2020 with the stage name VV. In 2023, he published his first album, titled Neon Noir. Valo began a globe tour in early 2023 to promote the record. VVN Music reported that Valo, famous for his deep, crooning baritone voice, has the eighth-highest vocal range of any recognized performer in popular music.
The heartagram, a trademark of HIM, was also created by him, and it has become well-recognized even by people who aren't fans of the band. Several media outlets have referred to Valo as a sex icon and have praised her musical achievements. Valo has appeared in several media, including film and television. In 1998, he played a minor role in the short film Asphalto, directed by Ilppo Pohjola.
