Vacations Information
Vacations is an Australian alternative rock band founded in 2015 in Newcastle, New South Wales. Drummer Campbell Burns, bassist Jake Johnson, guitarist Nate Delizzotti, and lead guitarist Joseph Van Lier formed the band in 2015.
With the release of Changes in 2018, they made their studio album debut. Their 2020 Believe Records CD Forever in Bloom was their second studio effort.
The group became famous after the TikTok video for the song "Young" from their 2016 EP Vibes got popular. The song has amassed over 400 million plays on Spotify as of June 2023. It sold over half a million copies in the US and was certified gold there.
The band defines their sound as "woozy guitar pop" and performs indie rock, indie pop, shoegaze, and lo-fi elements throughout their sets. Campbell Burns has stated that Mac DeMarco is a major influence on the band, and the band's sound is reminiscent of his.
