Ulices Chaidez Information
The Sinaloan singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Ulices Chaidez front the chart-topping Mexican Regional trio Ulices Chaidez y Sus Plebes of the twenty-first century. They play modern and classic renditions of Mexican folk music, such as corridos, bandas, and rancheras. They first appeared in 2016 with Andamos el Rudeda and have since released other top 40 singles and albums, including Brincale al Toro, 11:11, and Seguimos en el Ruedo, which is expected to receive widespread acclaim in 2020.
The group is from Navolato, Sinaloa, and they chose the moniker Los Plebes del Rancho in honor of Chaidez's legendary hero, Ariel Camacho. Chaidez has been actively involved in the music industry since he was just five years old. He also studies the accordion and violin, plays the fife, bass, and drums, and plays guitar and requinto. While still in high school, he played guitar solos with another band (Ulices Chaidez y Sus Humildes) at local and regional festivals and talent competitions. After hearing one of their songs on YouTube, a representative from Del Records signed the young performer at age 15. His trio has identical equipment to Camacho's.
August of 2016 saw the release of "Andamos en el Ruedo," the debut single from the band Ulices Chaidez y Sus Plebes. The single immediately topped multiple Latin Songs charts, Billboard featured the band in an article, and the music video was seen more than a million times. In October, they released their first studio album, also titled Andamos en el Ruedo, which spent 92 weeks in the Top Latin Albums chart.
