Tim Atlas Information
Tim Atlas is a California-based singer and songwriter who creates colorful indie-pop with R&B, jazz, and various other influences. Atlas debuted his 2018 EP All Talk! after competing on The Voice in 2015.
Born Tim Ferguson, a San Jose-based musician, was born in Oakland and grew up surrounded by music, participating in marching band, jazz band, and drumline while also educating himself to play guitar. He worked as an engineer at recording studios after graduating with a degree in photography. Before releasing his solo first EP, Lost in the Waiting, in 2013, he was a member of April Chase's alt-rock band. The six-song set had a sound reminiscent of John Mayer and Ed Sheeran through Phoenix or Borns.
Atlas got a big break in 2015 when Gwen Stefani invited him to join her team on the ninth season of the TV singing competition The Voice. Atlas made it to the seventh episode, where he was integrated into Pharrell Williams' squad after being chosen based on his performance of Ed Sheeran's "Give Me Love."
Atlas released a series of songs in 2016 that featured more textured production and atmospherics, such as "Compromised" and "The Other Side," all of which set the way for his 2018 EP All Talk! despite being removed in the 19th episode. Atlas returned with a third EP, Together Lonely, following headlining tours in the United States and the United Kingdom and supporting dates with No Vacation, the Lagoons, and Mating Ritual.
