Through The Roots Information
Through The Roots is an American reggae rock and pop band. The current lineup of the group consists of Evan Hawkins (lead vocals and guitar), Brady O’Rear (keyboard), Corrick Watson (lead guitar and vocals), and Ekona Ravey (bass and playback). The band is based out of San Diego, California. TTR is described as easy listening music with positive Cali-vibes and inspiring messages.
TTR first started in San Diego, California, in 2007. The band was known for blending their unique sounds of pop, rock, and reggae music to create their first raw album with the singles such as “Man Down,” “Stay Positive,” and “Best Friend.” All of the singles received airplay on Santa Barbara and San Diego radio stations in 2008. In 2009, the band opened a show for Pepper at San Diego State University and the same year for Rebelution.
Through The Roots soon joined Iration in spring 2010 for their Time Bomb Tour. Together they performed around 25 shows in 25 days. It added a lot of people to their fan base. On February 16, 2011, the band officially released its self-titled 6-song EP. The EP quickly captured the attention of music fans all around the West Coast.
TTR added Scott Goldberg on lead guitar. The band then released its second EP entitled, Here To Stay, on March 10, 2011. The EP featured four more tracks as well. The band went on touring soon after the release of the EP.
