The Unlikely Candidates are an American indie rock band that was formed in 2008 in Fort Worth, Texas. Their current lineup consists of Kyle Morris (lead vocalist), Brenton Carney (lead guitarist), Cole Male (guitarist), Kevin Goddard (drummer), and Jared Hombeek (bassist). Their most recent single entitled “Novocaine” has received over 17 million video views and streams. The Unlikely Candidates were united in high school but chose to separate themselves from the traditional and typical Texas music. Instead, they turned up with their very own alternative style.
The Unlikely Candidates released their debut extended play entitled Follow My Feet in 2016. Since its success, the band has released two more extended plays, including Danger to Myself (2017), and Bed of Liars (2017). The Unlikely Candidates have also been involved in alongside acts such as Brick & Morter, Fall Out Boy, The Dirty Heads, and Young The Giant. The band’s hit single entitled “Oh My Dear Lord” from their EP album Danger to Myself has received over 13 million streams worldwide, and “Your Love Could Start a War” from Bed of Liars EP has over 15 million streams worldwide.
In 2019, The Unlikely Candidates released a video single “Novocaine,” which is still gaining popularity. Another hit single is entitled “Ringer” from their Bed of Liars EP.
