The Teskey Brothers Information
The Teskey Brothers is an Australian blues rock band. The current lineup consists of Josh Teskey and Sam Teskey. With Downtown Music Publishing, they inked an agreement in 2018. The group inked deals with Mushroom Music Publishing, Ivy League Records, and Glassnote Records in 2019. The 2019 Levi Music Prize winner was announced in July and received $100,000 to help Australian and New Zealand artists break into international markets.
Live at Hamer Hall, recorded in December 2020, was confirmed for release in October 2021. It was given a December 2021 release date. On November 28, 2022, it was revealed that bassist Brendon Love & drummer Liam Gough would leave the band, reducing them to a pair. The band's cover of "Get Back to the Land" by Archie Roach, featuring Emma Donovan, was released in January 2022.
Announcing their third studio album in early 2023, The Teskey Brothers dropped The Winding Way on June 16, 2023. Singles "This Will Be Our Year" and "Oceans of Emotions" have been released before the album. Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding are clear influences on their sound. Soul music influenced by jazz, rhythm, and blues is what this band plays.
