The Technicolors Information
Phoenix, Arizona's The Technicolors are a musically astute young rock band who channel the flamboyance of rock-n-roll with the swagger of brit rock and the compositional prowess of legends like Roy Orbison, Noel Gallagher, and George Harrison. On November 13, 2012, their ambitious debut album, Listener Deluxe, will be released on the Bay Area independent label Tallest Man Records. Brennan Smiley, the primary singer and only 22 years old, also produced the album. Smiley had hoped to follow in his father's footsteps as a record producer by moving to Nashville and becoming a session musician, having grown up playing on his father's albums.
The new Phoenix facility, Studio at the Farm, is where Listener's ten-day recording session took place back in January. After a successful tour, The Technicolors burst with newfound enthusiasm and were ready to record their first full-length album. While Who Are You, released in 2010, was the band's debut album under the Technicolors moniker, Listener is the first to feature current members Mike "Nico" Nicolette (bass), Mikey Fanizza (guitar), and Kevin Prociw (drums).
