The Swell Season Information
Glen Hansard, from Ireland, and Markéta Irglová, from the Czech Republic, form the musical duo The Swell Season, who shot to international fame with their song 'Falling Slowly' off the 2007 film Once. They had an Academy Award for Best Original Song under their belt to begin a fascinating musical journey.
Following a stretch of few performances, The Swell Season came back together in 2022 for a few special shows. The pair reemerged on stage across the US in 2023, delighting fans on their US tour. In June 2023, they gave us the first taste of new material in over a decade with 'The Answer Is Yes' and a new chapter to their career.
The Swell Season also announced their first full album in 16 years, Forward, to be released in 2025. Both Hansard and Irglová will take turns on lead vocals on the eight new tracks. They also planned a 2025 Europe and North America tour to transport their timeless and emotional music to fans worldwide.
