The Sweet Remains is an American folk-rock group founded in 2008 by singer/songwriters Price, Naughton, and Chartrand. The band’s current lineup consists of the same founding members. Rich Price is from Burlington, VT; Brian Chartrand from Phoenix, AZ; and Greg Naughton is from New York, NY. The group was formed during a chance jam-session in a hotel room in Rhode Island. The first independent release by the band was the 2008 debut entitled Laurel & Sunset. It was produced in collaboration with Andy Zulla.
The second album by the Sweet Remains was North & Prospect. It was released in 2013 and garnered a USA TODAY “pick of the week” feature for the track named “Better Ways to Spend The Day.” Between these two albums, the band created another Live discography entitled Live at the Canal Room in 2012. In February 2018, the Sweet Remains announced the completion of a feature film named “The Independents.” This film revolves around the story and music of the group. It premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and won a jury prize for “best feature film 2018” at Omaha Film Festival (2018).
In 2019, the Sweet Remains began releasing singles via social media. Some of their notable singles are “Music Fills the Spaces” (February 1, 2019), “Howling Wolf” (March 1, 2019), and a few more. Night Songs is another studio album released by the band in 2015. The Sweet Remains recently completed their 6th European tour in 2015.
