The Strokes Information
The Strokes is an American rock band. The current lineup consists of Julian Casablancas, Nikolai Fraiture, Albert Hammond Jr., Fabrizio Moretti, and Nick Valensi. The Strokes' debut performance as a band took place at The Spiral on September 14, 1999. Is This It, the first album by The Strokes, was released in the United States in October 2001.
Gordon Raphael produced both this album and its follow-up, Room On Fire. The band went on a globe tour after the release of Is This It, stopping in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the United States.
The band released a video on June 21, 2021, showcasing a snippet of their new song "Starting Again," composed with Gregg Alexander, supporting New York City mayoral candidate Maya Wiley. The band was just as active on the road in 2022 as in previous years, playing several high-profile festivals worldwide as headliners.
The band played a benefit show for Kina Collins, a congressional candidate from Chicago, on June 17, 2022. That summer, they went on the road supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers on their 2022 World Stadium Tour. In October 2022, Rubin announced that he and The Strokes had been working on new music in Costa Rica.
