The Mother Hips Information
The Mother Hips is an American rock band. The group is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The current lineup of the Mother Hips includes Tim Bluhm (vocals/guitar), Isaac Parsons (bass), Greg Loiacono (guitar/vocals), and Mike Wofchuck (drums). All of them met when they were attending California State University-Chico in 1990. The boys were living off-campus, located in Bradley Hall.
The band members started their causal caster by jamming and playing original songs at random parties. One of them was billed as the Trunk-of-Funk and Pippi Longstocking. Soon after that, Mike and Isaac shifted their interest to the prospect of playing Jane's Addiction covers and Led Zeppelin at big parties. They became an important part of the Keystones.
On the other hand, Greg and Tim started playing acoustic guitars, and they sang harmonies in the mellow trio Ali and the Cats to the famous songstress Ali Weiss. The separate bands played throughout 1990, but the next year, Tim, Isaac, Greg, and Mike gathered once again and seriously took their union as a rock band. Soon the boys started to play original songs rather than covers and released their first discography entitled Back to the Grotto in 1993.
The Mother Hips has worked with some major record labels, such as MCA. A&R Exec, Rick Rubin's American Recordings, and some more. A few notable discographies by the band include Part-Timer Goes Full (1995), Back to the Grotto (1993), Later Days (1998), Shootout (1996), Green Hills of Earth (2001), Behind Beyond (2013), Chronicle Man (2014), and Chorus (2018).
