The Monochrome Set Information
The Monochrome Set are an English post-punk and new wave band that originated from London in January 1978. The most recent line-up of the group consists of Mike Urban, Bid, John Paul Moran, Andy Warren. Some of the Monochrome Set past members are Jeremy Harrington, Lexington Crane, Nicholas Weslowski, and Steve Brummel. The group was formed from a college group named The B-Sides. The band played its first live gig at Westfield College in London in February 1978.
Strange Boutique is the debut studio album by the Monochrome Set, released in 1980. The album peaked at number 62 on the UK Albums Chart. It was followed by a second album named Love Zombies in 1980. Some of the other initial releases by the band are Eligible Bachelors (1982), The Lost Weekend (1985), Dante's Casino (1990), Jack (1991), Trinity Road (1995), Platinum Coils (2012), Spaces Everywhere (2015), and Maisieworld (2018).
The Monochrome Set released an extended play in 1995 entitled I Love Lambeth. Some of the compilation albums by the band are Volume, Contrast, Brilliance..., Westminster Affair, What a Whopper!, Compendium 75–95, The Best of The Monochrome Set, Volume, Contrast, Brilliance, and The Monochrome Set - 1979-1985: Complete Recordings. Live (1993) and M-80 (2013) are the only two live albums by the band.
The Monochrome Set has worked with a few recording labels throughout its career, including DinDisc, Cherry Red, Rough Trade, Blanco y Negro, Warner Bros., and Tapete.
