The Monkees is one of the American pop and rock band from Los Angeles, California. The group was initially active from 1966 to 1971. The Monkees were founded by Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider (television producers). They were created for a television series named The Monkees (1966-1968). The Monkees' television series is a fusion of folk-rock, country-rock, rock and roll, and pop-rock. The band faced several ups and downs but finally got reunited and has been active since 2010.
The current band members are Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Peter Tork, and Michael Nesmith. After the TV comedy series was canceled, the band started producing music. Till now, The Monkees has sold 75+ million records across the globe, turning the band into one of the biggest-selling groups.
