The Lost Gonzo Band Information
The Lost Gonzo Band is an American country rock band. The band was formed in 1972. Murphey's Geronimo's Cadillac, Cosmic Cowboy Souvenir, and Jerry Jeff's Viva Terlingua both feature these players. Bob Livingston, Gary P. Nunn, John Inmon, Kelly Dunn, Tomas Ramirez, and Donny Dolan were the band's founding members. Band members have included Paul Pearcy, Craig D. Hillis, Herbert Steiner, Mike Holleman, Michael McGeary, Bobby Smith, Lloyd Maines, Radoslav Lorkovi, and Riley Osbourn.
The Lost Gonzo Band put out three albums in the '70s: 1975's Lost Gonzo Band, 1976's Thrills, and 1977's Signs of Life, all on different record labels. In 1976, 1978, and 1986, the band performed on the PBS program Austin City Limits. The band released two albums in the '90s for Vireo Records: 1992's Rendezvous and 1995's Hands of Time. In 1998, an English label called Demon Records published a CD collection of the first two MCA albums named Dead Armadillos.
On October 22, 2021, the Lost Gonzo Band played a sold-out gig at Gruene Hall for the first time in nine years. Gary P. Nunn on guitar, Bob Livingston on bass, John Inmon on lead guitar, and Steady Freddie Krc on drums were the initial band members. Steve Layne, a guitarist from Texas, and David Webb, a keyboardist from Texas, rounded out the lineup.
