The Iguanas Information
The Iguanas are a New Orleans, Louisiana band formed in 1989 and play roots rock. The band's distinctive sound has been described as a fusion of Chicano rock, R&B, Conjunto, and other Latin genres.
Homicide: Life on the Street's "The Documentary" used the band's song "Boom, Boom, Boom," from 1994's Nuevo Boogaloo. In 1994, Nuevo Boogaloo peaked at #34 on the US Billboard Heatseekers chart. Their first single, "Para Donde Vas," from their self-titled debut album in 1993, was featured on the soundtrack for the film Phenomenon. This band was featured in the 2006 documentary New Orleans Music in Exile by Robert Mugge, in which they discussed the impact of Hurricane Katrina on their careers. In April 2012, the band's studio album Sin To Sin was released via PFAM.
