The Gaslight Anthem Information
New Jersey's The Gaslight Anthem, formed in 2006, is an American rock band. The band members are lead singer/rhythm guitarist Brian Fallon, lead guitarist/backing singer Alex Rosamilia, bassist Alex Levine, and drummer/percussionist Benny Horowitz. Sink or Swim, the debut album by The Gaslight Anthem was published in May 2007 by XOXO Records, and The '59 Sound, the follow-up, was released by SideOneDummy Records in August 2008.
Mercury Records released the band's third album, American Slang, in June of 2010 and their fourth album, Handwritten, in July 2012. Their biggest commercially successful track, "45," was the album's lead single from Handwritten. Get Hurt, the band's fifth album, was released on Island Records on August 12, 2014.
After playing Reading Festival on Sunday, August 30, as part of their European summer tour, the band announced on July 29 that they would take an indefinite break. In 2018, the band reassembled for a series of gigs to mark the 10th anniversary of The '59 Sound and then went back on hiatus. The band announced their comeback and return to "full-time status" in March 2022, along with the start of work on their sixth studio album.
