The Fratellis Information
The Fratellis are a Scottish rock band that is based in Glasgow. The band was formed in the year 2005 and consisted of bassist and backing vocalist Barry Fratelli, lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli, and drummer and backing vocalist Mince Fratelli. The music style of the band is explained indie rock, post-punk, garage rock, alternative rock, and revival. The name of the group was taken from a criminal family that was in The Goonies.
The Fratellis carried out its very first radio playing in the year 2005, which was via central Scotland's Beat 106. Jim Gellatly hosted this show and the band itself was signed to Fallout Records. The Fratellis EP was the very first EP by The Fratellis, which was released on April 3, 2006. Some of the hit tracks included in this EP are "The Gutterati?", "Stacie Anne," and "Creepin' Up the Backstairs." The first show played by the band was on March 4, 2005, which was arranged at the O'Henry's bar.
“Henrietta” was the first single released by The Fratellis, which was released on June 12, 200. This single charted at number 19 on the UK Charts. Some of the other discographies released by the band are Costello Music (2006), Here We Stand (2008), We Need Medicine (2013), Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied (2015), In Your Own Sweet Time (2018), Half Drunk Under a Full Moon (2020), and a few more.
The Fratellis won three awards in total; 33rd Silver Clef Awards 2008 for the category of Best British Band, 2008 European Border Breakers Award (EBBA) for Best European Border Breaking Act- United Kingdom, and BRIT Awards 2007 for Best British Breakthrough Act.
