The group was founded when Dana Fuchs started to sing and write songs from her inspiration of Esther Phillips and Etta James. The band's current lineup includes Jon (guitar and backing vocals), Matt Beck (guitars), Jack Daley (bass), Pete Levin (keys), Joe Daley (drums), and Dana (lead vocals).
The Dana Fuchs Band released the album Lonely for a Lifetime in 2003, which became a major hit. Songs from the Road was another album by the group released in 2014. Dana followed the hallowed footsteps of legends, including Jeff Healey, Luther Allison, and the Royal Southern Brotherhood.
