The Blue Dogs Information
The Blue Dogs started in South Carolina with two best friends who wanted to make music that made people happy. They quickly became known for their positive original songs, lively live performances, and seamless fusion of rock, pop, and country. Big Dreamers, their first album in 16 years, is where the story resumes. The album was produced by Sadler Vaden, an outstanding guitarist who has been a fan of the Blue Dogs since he was a teenager, and it further establishes the band as one of the most beloved and enduring in the state.
Hank Futch (bass) and Bobby Houck (lead vocalist, acoustic guitar) founded the band in 1987 and have led it ever since. Both musicians grew up in Florence, South Carolina. Guitarist Dan Hood, steel guitarist Charlie Thompson, and longstanding drummer Greg Walker all contributed to the recording of this album. Meanwhile, three new songs on Big Dreamers were partly written by former member Phillip Lammonds, creating a sense of coming full circle.
