Jones earned a name for herself as the 'Queen of Austin Soul,' spending years revitalizing the music of others. She was honored by Billboard for her performance at the 2015 Austin Music Awards when she sang alongside Steven Van Zandt, Charlie Sexton, Alejandro Escovedo, and Patty Griffin to pay respect to late singer Ian McLagan. Her performance was described as "showstopping" by Billboard and "raising the roof" by The Austin Chronicle.
Gary Clark Jr. enlisted Jones to sing on a track for his album in 2015. She also collaborated with Texan artists on her first original EP, released in October 2015. The EP's first single, "Hot and Bothered," is a Motown-inspired song about a crush written by Jones. The CD is a collage of her influences throughout her career as a cover artist.
