The members toured Canada and Europe in 2008 and Australia and New Zealand in 2009. The tour classifies its genres as metalcore, death metal, heavy metal, and progressive metal. Ash Avildsen originally founded the Summer Slaughter Tour. Entitled "The Most Extreme Tour of the Year," the tours enjoy a brilliant reputation among fans of extreme forms of metal music.
In 2012, Summer Slaughter decided to add more progressive metal bands to their exclusive lineup. Some of the notable names that played the tour include Between the Buried and Me, Cannibal Corpse, Periphery, Animals as Leaders, and The Ocean. The 2007 supporting bands were Decapitated, Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation, The Faceless, As Blood Runs Black, Ion Dissonance, Beneath the Massacre, and Daath.
The Summer Slaughter Tour offered an opportunity in 2011 to their fans. They were allowed to vote on who would be the tour opener. The choices were Revocation, Neuraxis, Conducting From The Grave, Dawn of Ashes, The Contortionist, Within The Ruins, Volumes, Rings of Saturn, Augury, 7 Horns 7 Eyes, and a few more. The same chance was given to the fans in 2012 and 2013, which ultimately stopped in 2014.
