Strawberry Alarm Clock is a band founded in 1967 from Glendale, California. The group's music is classified as pop, psychedelic rock, sunshine pop, rock, psychedelic pop, and acid rock. The current lineup of Strawberry Alarm Clock consists of Gene Gunnels – drums, percussion, vocals; Randy Seol – drums, vibes, percussion, vocals; Mark Weitz – keyboard, vocals; George Bunnell – bass, rhythm guitars, vocals; Steve Bartek – guitars, flute, producer; and Howie Anderson – lead guitar, vocals.
The first single by Strawberry Alarm Clock was the most famous, named "Incense and Peppermints," and produced by Frank Slay. In November 1967, the group toured with the Beach Boys and Buffalo Springfield. The debut studio album was followed by Wake Up...It's Tomorrow, The World in a Sea Shell, Good Morning Starshine, and Wake Up Where You Are.
Strawberry Alarm Clock also released many compilation albums such as The Best of the Strawberry Alarm Clock (1969), Changes (1971), The Best of the Strawberry Alarm Clock Vol. 1 (1985), Incense & Peppermints (1987), Strawberries Mean Love (1992), Anthology (At Their Best) (1993), and Incense and Peppermints and Wake Up...It's Tomorrow (2013). Their hit singles include "Sit with the Guru," "Miss Attraction," "Starting Out the Day," and "I Climbed the Mountain." Strawberry Alarm Clock has made several television appearances throughout its career, including Happening '68, The Steve Allen Show, American Bandstand, and Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In.
