Spanish Love Songs is an American rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Meredith Van Woert, Trevor Dietrich, Ruben Duarte, Kyle McAulay, and Dylan Slocum. Spanish Love Songs was founded in 2013 in Los Angeles, California. Dylan Slocum (vocals, guitar) founded the group with Gabe Mayeshiro (bass) and Ruben Duarte (drums). Soon after, they were expanded to a four-piece with the addition of guitarist Kyle McAulay. In August of 2013, the band performed for the first time.
They started working on what would eventually become their first full-length album in the studio, an EP. Giant Sings the Blues was the band's first studio album, released in March 2015. The record was independently released. The band's debut album was reissued 2016 with bonus tracks when they signed with Wiretap Records. Little Giants, a compilation of outtakes from Giant Sings the Blues, was published by the band on October 24, 2016. In 2017, the band expanded to a five-piece with the addition of keyboardist Meredith Van Woert.
Schmaltz, the band's second studio album, was released in 2018. The band released their version of Phoebe Bridgers' "Funeral" on November 30, 2018. The year 2020 saw the release of Spanish Love Songs' third studio album, Brave Faces Everyone. The album sold 2000 copies in its first week, earning it the No. 21 spot on the Vinyl Albums chart and the No. 61 spot on the Top Album Sales chart.
