Snail Mail Information
Lindsey Jordan (June 16, 1999) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. She is best known for her indie-rock solo project, Snail Mail. She originally belonged to Ellicot City, Maryland. Jordan debuted as Snail Mail lived in 2015, when he was 15 years old, and gained notoriety with the EP Habit in 2016. Snail Mail's debut studio album, Lush (2018), was critically acclaimed after signing with Matador Records. Snail Mail followed up with Valentine in 2021, which received even more critical acclaim.
Jordan and her new band Snail Mail released their self-recorded solo EP Sticki in 2015. Ryan Vieira on bass and Shawn Durham on drums accompanied her on stage. Snail Mail made her live debut in Baltimore's Unregistered Nurse festival in October 2015, alongside Sheer Mag, Screaming Females, and Priests.
Snail Mail toured extensively in North America in 2017 with bassist Alex Bass and drummer Ray Brown, supporting Priests, Girlpool, Waxahatchee, and Beach Fossils. Jordan joined Matador Records in September 2017 and gave her debut Tiny Desk Concert for NPR Music. In January 2018, Snail Mail embarked on its first headlining tour.
Valentine, Snail Mail's second album, was released on November 5, 2021. The album was well-received by critics and made several year-end lists in 2021. Jordan's idols and key musical influences include Paramore's Hayley Williams, Liz Phair, and Avril Lavigne.
