Slowdive Information
Slowdive is a British rock band. The current lineup comprises Nick Chaplin, Rachel Goswell, Neil Halstead, Christian Savill, and Simon Scott. The band Slowdive was founded by Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell in Reading, England, in October 1989. Since they were six, they had been inseparable since they shared a love of music and the guitar. They got together at a Sunday youth group and started an indie pop band named the Pumpkin Fairies.
For their first single in 22 years, Slowdive dropped "Star Roving" on Dead Oceans in January of 2017. In May 2017, they dropped another single called "Sugar for the Pill" before releasing their fourth studio album. The band Slowdive announced in September 2020 that they have started recording their fifth studio album. When the band finally finished recording their new album in April 2023, they announced it on a podcast.
After the release of their debut single, "Kisses," on June 20, 2023, the band performed at the Glastonbury Festival later that month. Release dates for subsequent singles and the album itself were as follows: "Skin in the Game" (July 18, 2023), "The Slab" (August 2023), and "Alife" (September 1, 2023).
