Shun The Raven Information
Shun The Raven is an American progressive rock and metal band from High Point, NC. The current lineup of the group includes Aaron Monk (Vocalist/Guitarist), Jairus Combs (bassist), Cody Pike (Guitar Player), and Chad Hough (Drummer). This four-piece band was founded in 2015 as an original and independent rock band. The band members spent some time writing high-quality songs before heading into Overdub Lane Studios and working with Producer John Plymale.
Shun The Raven released a three-song ‘Untitled Demo’ in 2016 and returned to the same studio to cut an additional three songs. The songs were released a year later on all online platforms. The band played at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival in Virginia in 2017, which included performances by Drowning Pool, Everlast, P.O.D., Saving Abel, Tantric, Flaw, Sick Puppies, and Scott Stapp. Shun The Raven followed up by winning the 105.7 Battle of the Bands contest. This milestone earned them a spot to open for Saliva and Trapt at the White Oak Amphitheater in Greensboro.
Shun the Raven has shared the stage with various national acts, including October Rage, Powerman 5000, Tremonti, Smile Empty Soul, Austin Winkler (formerly with Hinder), and Warrant. They also spent an acoustic evening with Saliva. The group switched gears and joined forces with Producer Jamie King to release the tracks; ‘Tale of Two Tales’ and ‘Clockwork.’ The band won Rock Band of the Year at The Carolina Music Awards in Raleigh, NC.
