Alejandro Aranda (August 11, 1994) is an American singer, musician, and reality television personality known by his stage name Scarypoolparty. He is from Pomona, California, and his music is classified as pop and indie. Aranda was a runner-up on the American Idol 17th season. He was home-schooled, although never attached to his family. Aranda always wanted to cultivate a world where everyone supports each other, and no judgments are involved.
Alejandro Aranda shares his early influences of classical music being Beethoven, Chopin, Dead Can Dance, and Bach. He inclined towards music after an incident in his life that nearly took Aranda’s hand away. At 20, he started to sing, busking on the streets of Pomona, CA, playing at Open Mic Nights whenever he got a chance. Twin Shadow soon discovered him on Instagram and offered him odd jobs while teaching music.
Aranda played his first show in 2016, accompanying Twin on a tribute to Prince at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Two of them worked as keyboardists, guitarists, and backup singers performing in festivals and events. Aranda soon earned Artist of the Year with CSUN and Five of Five Entertainment in 2017.
Aranda auditioned for Season 17 of American Idol in Los Angeles, CA, performing two original songs, “Out Loud” and “Cholo Love.” Exit Form and Doom Hologram are two studio albums released by Aranda thus far.
