Saw Doctors Information
The Saw Doctors is a group of musicians who play rock music from Ireland. Established in 1986 in Tuam, County Galway, the band has amassed eighteen singles that have reached the top 30 in the Republic of Ireland. Three of which have reached number one. Their debut track, "I Useta Lover," peaked in 1990 and remains Ireland's best-selling single; it topped the charts for nine weeks.
The Meteor Ireland Music Awards gave them a Lifetime Achievement Award on February 15, 2008. Bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bruce Springsteen, Sex Pistols, The Undertones, and John Prine are major influences on them.
Former Too Much for the White Man member Leo Moran, former Blaze X composer and guitarist Davy Carton, and local vocalist Mary O'Connor founded The Saw Doctors in 1986. Blaze X was a short-lived punk band from Tuam.
The tour of the UK and Ireland was a smashing success when it eventually went down at the tail end of 2017. Then, word got out that Carton and Moran collaborated on new record material.
In March 2022, following a five-year hiatus from touring, The Saw Doctors announced a four-date UK Tour for November and December 2022. Dates on this tour will take place at the Apollo in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, and London.
