Satchel Grande Information
Founded in the United States, Satchel Grande is a four-piece band. They weren't even a band when they first performed together. There was only one person involved. He started with an acoustic guitar, some drumsticks, and what was called a "Bobby Brown" microphone headset on stage. To become an official band, Klemmensen had to steal members from other groups that had formed weekly poker games. Satchel Grande is now the funkiest band on the scene, five years after they formed. When Klemmensen was a teenager, he developed a taste for funk. He was a great Nirvana and Pearl Jam fan in the '90s, along with everyone else. His life changed after receiving a friend's "Mothership Connection" from Parliament.
Satchel Grande's funky grooves are largely composed by Klemmensen, who then defers to the band's other eight members to add their flair to the pieces. That's when you realize you've got something special on your hands. The contrast between seeing and hearing a band can be disorienting. As a rule, the band's live performances are superior to its studio releases. Nine white men dressed in ties, vests, and aviator sunglasses are responsible for the groovy tunes that fill the auditorium.
