American musician James C. Heath (born 1959) goes by the stage name The Reverend Horton Heat, and his psychobilly trio is called the same. They are headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Heath performs as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. In 2012, Reverend Horton Heat was signed by Victory Records, and Scott Churilla rejoined the band as their drummer, a role he would hold for the subsequent five years. January 21, 2014, saw the release of an album titled Rev.
"Let Me Teach You How to Eat," the album's lead song, had its YouTube music video released on November 12, 2013. Roaring to a peak of no. 111 on the Billboard 200, Rev became the highest-charting album for the band. The band recorded unpublished rock and roll songs with Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister while touring as the opening act for Motörhead. Many other musicians have had Reverend Horton Heat's support, including Deke Dickerson, Jello Biafra, and Unknown Hinson.
Arjuna "R.J." Contreras, who had previously played drums for Eleven Hundred Springs, replaced Churilla in 2017. Matt Jordan, a West Virginia native, joined the group and contributed vocals, organ, and piano. In 2018, they released the album Whole New Life. The Jimbos were formed in 2021 by Heath, Wallace, and Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim Phantom. Live In Houston, the Trio's live CD was released on December 22, 2023.
