Red Elvises Information
The Red Elvises is a Russian-American band founded in 1995 and originated from California. The group is also known as Igor and Red Elvises (named after the founding member and bandleader Igor Yuzov). Its music is classified as surf, rockabilly, reggae, folk-rock, funk rock, disco, and traditional Russian. The band's founding lineup consists of Igor Yuzov, Zhenya Rock (Kolykhanov), and Oleg Bernov. The touring members include Craig Pilo (drums), Pavel Voyskov (drums), Timur Popovkin (bass), Elena Shemankova (keyboard), and Yury Krivoshein (guitar).
The Red Elvises played on the road often during their initial career years. Soon the band members began recording and self-producing CDs. The band released its first discography in 1996, entitled Grooving To The Moscow Beat. It was followed by Surfing In Siberia in 1997, and I Wanna See You Bellydance in 1998; a breakthrough CD.
Some other notable studio albums by The Red Elvises include Russian Bellydance (1999), Better Than Sex (1999), Shake Your Pelvis (2000), Bedroom Boogie (2001), Welcome to the Freakshow (2001), Rokenrol (2002), Bacon (2014), and She Works for KGB (2017). Live On The Pacific Ocean (1997) and Live In Moscow (2006) are the band's two videography.
The Red Elvises also appeared in many films and television shows such as Mail Order Bride (film), Fastlane (TV), Project: Valkyrie (film), Heartbreakers (film), Six-String Samurai (film), and Penn & Teller's Sin City Spectacular (TV), Pitch (film).
