Prince Royce (May 11, 1989) is an American songwriter and singer. His original name is Geoffrey Royce Rojas, but professionally known as Prince Royce. He adopted this name as his stage name at the age of sixteen. Royce was interested in music from an early age. He started to write poetry and experimenting with different music. Andres Hidalgo is the man behind Royce’s initial journey in the music industry. Hidalgo became his manager and introduced Royce with record producer Sergio George who signed him immediately after hearing a few demos.
Royce released his debut eponymous album. It was a successful release, especially two of his singles entitled “Corazon Sin Cara” and “Stand by Me.” Both of these songs reached the top of the Billboard Tropical Songs chart. “Corazon Sin Cara” notably reached no. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. It did not end here, and the album itself peaked at no. 1 on US Tropical Albums and the Billboard Top Latin Albums.
Prince Royce has appeared in several films as well, including La Voz Kids (2013), The Passion (2016), Elena of Avalor (2018-19), and a few more. He has released many studio albums apart from his debut album “Prince Royce.” Those albums are Phase II that was released in 2012, Soy el Mismo in 2013, Double Vision in 2015, and Five in 2017. He has also opened acts for Enrique Iglesias during his Euphoria Tour in 2011 and for Ariana Grande in 2015 during her The Honeymoon Tour.
So far, Royce has been nominated 153 times throughout his career and is a winner to 75 awards.
