Pepsi National Battle of the Bands Information
The Pepsi National Battle of the Bands 2024 aims to raise awareness of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), their marching bands, and their responsibilities in training aspiring musicians and producing future leaders. In NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, the musical showcase is a yearly event presented in conjunction with Webber Marketing and the Harris County—Houston Sports Authority.
The organizers of the event have been successful in generating more than $1.3 million in scholarships for the schools and universities that are participating. This year's exciting new element provided by the National Black College and University Bands of America (NBOTB) event was a Hall of Fame ceremony aimed to honor those who have made outstanding contributions to the success and legacy of the HBCU marching bands.
The respect these people have highlights the critical part they have played in forming the HBCU marching band tradition. During the occasion that takes place in August, the Hall of Fame program will be presented to the public and its first members will be inducted.
