Parthenon Huxley Information
Parthenon Huxley (January 19, 1956) is an American producer, singer, musician, and songwriter. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 2004, after relocating to Maryland, Huxley began recording what would become P. Hux's third studio album, Kiss the Monster. In 2007, it was released by English label Voiceprint, Huxley's imprint Nine18, and Huxley's American manager and label owner David Bean of Carmel, California's BeanBagOne. Album of the Year was a category in which Just Plain Folks placed Kiss the Monster.
Mile High Fan, an album of songs recorded in Los Angeles in the late 1980s and early 1990s, was released in 2006 by Nine18/Not Lame Records. The songs on "Mile High Fan" were written for the album that was supposed to come after 1988's "Sunny Nights."
Huxley's Tracks & Treasure Vol. 1 was released in 2011, and it featured tracks that had previously only been issued on collections alongside previously unheard master recordings. Artists such as Mik Kaminski (violin, ELO/ELO Part II/The Orchestra) and Rusty Anderson (guitar, McCartney) contributed to the record. The album's title was a pun on the term "trash and treasure" days in Maryland.
Thank You Bethesda, a compilation of Huxley's new tracks, was released by Nine18 Records on April 2, 2013. The finishing touches on the record were made possible via a successful Kickstarter campaign in the autumn of 2012. The CD comes with a 24-page booklet that credits all of Huxley's backers on Kickstarter and features photos of them.
