Parquet Courts Information
Parquet Courts, also known as Parkay Quarts, is an American rock band from New York City that was founded in 2010. The music of the band is defined as post-punk, garage rock, art-punk, and indie rock. The current lineup of the group consists of Andrew Savage (vocals, guitar), Sean Yeaton (bass), Austin Brown (vocals, guitar, keyboard), and Max Savage (drums).
American Specialties was a debut album by Parquet Courts that was released as a limited cassette in 2011. It was followed by the band's second studio album entitled Light Up Gold in 2012. It was initially released on Savage's Dull Tools label but later got reissued on "What's Your Rupture?" in 2013. Parquet Courts reached number 55 on the Billboard album chart with its third studio album, entitled Sunbathing Animal, in 2014. It was followed by the single "Uncast Shadow of a Southern Myth" which was released later in the same year.
Some of the other notable studio albums by the band are Content Nausea November 28, 2014; Human Performance April 8, 2016; and Wide Awake! May 18, 2018. Parquet Courts also released a collaboration LP Ramsgate with PC Worship under the name PCPC and a mostly instrumental as well as experimental EP, entitled Monastic Living.
A song by Parquet Courts, "Almost Had to Start a Fight/In and Out of Patience," got featured in the video game EA Sports NHL 19. Another single "One Man No City" was featured in an episode of The Blacklist. The two extended plays by the band are Tally All the Things That You Broke (2013) and Monastic Living (2015).
