Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) is an English electronic band. The current lineup of the group consists of Stuart Kershaw (drums), Martin Cooper (keyboards), Paul Humphreys (keyboards and vocals), and Andy McCluskey (bass guitar, keyboards, and vocals). OMD has cited various artists as their influence, such as Neil Hannon, James Mercer, Kevin Hearn, Davey Havok, Dave Keuning, Gary Barlow, John Frusciante, Liars, Paul van Dyk, MGMT, Moby, and No Doubt.
OMD released its self-titled debut album on February 22, 1980, through Dindisc. The album was recorded at the band’s Liverpool studio. The album peaked at number 27 on the UK Albums Chart.
