Ocean Alley Information
Ocean Alley is an Australian based alternative reggae rock band from Northern Beaches, Sydney. The current line-up of the band consists of Baden Donegal (guitar and vocals), Angus Goodwin (lead guitar), Lachlan Galbraith (vocals and keyboard), Mitch Galbraith (rhythm guitar), Nic Blom (bass), and Tom O’Brien (drums). In 2011, the band started playing in a backyard shed. The music of the band was influenced by Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, and Jimi Hendrix.
Ocean Alley started performing at venues all across the Northern Beaches as well as in other areas of Sydney. In September 2013, the band released its debut EP entitled “Yellow Mellow.” After publishing this EP, the group got massive help in building their fan base all across Sydney. In 2014, Ocean Alley toured interstate first in 2014.
Ocean Alley has also toured around Australia for five times. The exciting thing about these tours was that the band completed these in their four-wheel drive. In 2015, Ocean Alley released its second EP entitled “In Purple.” Hit singles of the EP included “Muddy Water” and “Space Goat.” The band also began recording its debut studio album at the end of 2015 named “Lost Tropics.” The group supported their album by touring across Europe and played 40 shows.
Ocean Alley began to work on their second studio album entitled Chiaroscuro in January 2017. In March of the same year, the first single from the album “Overgrown” was released. Ocean Alley has been nominated two times during the ARIA Music Awards for Song of the Year category and APRA Awards for Rock Work of the Year category.
