OAR Information
An American rock band from Rockville, Maryland, O.A.R. (which stands for "Of A Revolution") was formed in 1996. Marc Roberge (vocalist/guitarist), Chris Culos (drummer), Richard On (guitarist), Benj Gershman (bassist), and Jerry DePizzo (saxophonist/guitarist) make up the band. Mikel Paris, a keyboardist, and trumpet player Jon Lampley are touring members. Ten studio albums have been released by the band collectively.
The band made the announcement that their new album, The Rockville LP, would be released on June 10, 2014, via multiple social media platforms on March 21, 2014. On its first week of release, The Rockville LP peaked at thirteenth on Billboard's top 200, first among independent albums, sixth among current rock albums, and seventh among digital albums.
Famous for their live performances and summertime tours, the band has released six live albums, the most recent being November 2019's Live From Merriweather. Four band members attended Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School while growing up in Rockville, Maryland. They continued their education at Ohio State University after finishing high school. Youngstown, Ohio native and saxophonist/guitarist Jerry DePizzo, the band's fifth member, was introduced to them during that event. Launched on July 15, 2022, "The Arcade" is their most recent studio album. Producer Jantz Spalding was responsible for the album.
