Nero Information
Nero is an English electronic music trio. The current lineup consists of Alana Watson, Joe Ray, and Dan Stephens. The band’s debut release was “Space 2001”, released as a part of a three-piece vinyl LP, Straight Outta Leicester.” It was released through Reformed Recordings in 2004. On May 10, 2006, Nero also released an EP entitled Requiem. Sasha Frere-Jones, a New Yorker Magazine journalist, listed the band’s remix of The Streets entitled “Blinded by the Lights” in his top songs of 2009.
Nero released its debut studio album, Welcome Reality, on August 12, 2011. The album became number one in the UK Albums Chart. Their dubstep song “Promises” also received a Gold certification in the United States in August 2012. The band won a Grammy Award for its collaborative remix of “Promises” with Skrillex on February 10, 2013. On September 11, 2015, Nero released its second studio album entitled, Between II Worlds.
Nero’s debut album was re-released on October 22, 2012, as Welcome Reality +. The album featured two extra tracks, “Etude” and “Won’t You (Be There).” The band produced the song “Follow Me” in December 2012 for Muse, the British rock band.
Nero’s notable singles are “Act Like You Know,” “Something Else / Night Thunder,” “Crush On You,” “Must Be the Feeling,” “Into the Night,” “Satisfy,” and “Two Minds.”
